We're Young Again

We have had a really great weekend!  This is the first weekend in a while that we have done something out of the ordinary!  Friday night, Taylor went to the Lassiter High School rugby game to watch the Trojans whoop up on Walton.  One of our youth is on the team, so he got to enjoy watching that game.  What did I do Friday night, you ask?  Well... I went to watch the Justin Beiber movie!  I sure did.  And it was AWESOME!  I now have BIEBER FEVER!!  And yes, I felt like a 13 year old girl all over again... he is just crazy talented and adorable... if you haven't seen it yet, for sure go.  No shame.  Just grab a 13 year old and pretend you're taking them!  I went with my new friend Cori and her two 13 year olds, but I'm pretty sure we were giddy laughing during the movie more than they were!  :)  I will share a video with you (bottom of the screen) that I am now pretty much obsessed with after the movie... So good!

Yesterday morning Taylor had rehearsal for a DNow that he is playing at this weekend... so Jake and I stayed home and did about 47 million loads of laundry (seriously, how do two people produce SO many dirty clothes??!!) and watched some One Tree Hill.  Then when Taylor got home, we just hung out for the afternoon, then I cooked a YUMMY pork tenderloin for dinner.  After that, we got ready and headed to Paradise Grille, a Mexican restaurant down the street from our house.  Cori sings there every Saturday night, so Taylor and I wanted to go watch.  We had such a good time!  It was so nice to go out together and do something... we haven't really done that a lot lately!  And when we do, it's just dinner or something like that, so we really enjoyed it!  We stayed out until 11:30!!!!!  What???!!!!  Haha... that's the reason for the title of this post... I felt like we were young again... instead of being in bed at 10 like normal. :)

Today was church day!  So we went to church this morning then had a cleaning afternoon because we had the youth over to our house tonight instead of having Bible study.  They have this week off of school so most of them are out of town, so we invited the few stragglers that were left over to play games, eat, and hang out.  There are only boys left... so of course the Xbox is on... story of my life!  I think I'm going to go take a shower and lay in bed and watch TV.  I'm not too interested in watching them blow fake people up on the screen!  Hope everyone else had a fabulous weekend and an even more fabulous week ahead!

Here is the Biebs video I promised!  ;)

American Idol!

Confession:  I LOVE American Idol.  Always have, always will.  I don't even miss Simon this season because I think JLo and Steven Tyler are just that awesome!  The past two seasons I have called my early favorites... and they have both won.  I'm good, just sayin'!  So, for your reading pleasure, here they are!  My early season 10 favorites!!!

This kid is crazy good!  Every time he sings I just get a big ol' grin on my face!  Sad note-- do I think he'll win?  I'm not sure...  I haven't decided if the judges are going to put him through... but I think if he does make it to the point where America votes, he'll go pretty far!

Okay, seriously?!  This girl can absolutely SING!  I can't believe she's 15!  I think she's going to be the winner... Just sayin'!  And she's so pretty too.  Taylor thinks she's hot.  That's okay, I may or may not enjoy seeing Ryan Seacrest on my screen twice a week ;)  PS-- He's not gay in my head.  I don't know if he is in real life or not, but in my life, he's not!

Casey Abrams... man.  He's so good!  He may look a little spastic sometimes, but hey.  He's good.  He had me with that scat singing in his first audition!  And tonight with the stand up bass?!  What?!  Too good.

Robbie Rosen... I liked this guy before... but tonight when he played the piano... WOW!

I'm not really sure why I like this guy so much... I guess it's the deep voice.  I didn't like him yesterday when he stole poor little Jacee's group... but that's okay, he cried afterward.  I hope he apologized haha.

Julie Zorrilla... She's just adorable and really good.  I didn't like her at first, but now she's one of my favs.

There is another guy that I like too... but I CANNOT remember his name!  He has light brown hair and tonight he sang a Daughtry song and played piano... he has crazy rocker hair... If anyone knows his name... remind me!

Honorable mention:  John Wayne Schultz
Dishonorable mention:  James Durbin.  He reminds me too much of Adam Lambert and he wears scarves like a tail.  I know he has terets and a kid and life is rough... but I'm just not a big fan of him.  He'll probably make it through anyways, but oh well.

Who does everyone else like?!

Productivity

I really enjoy being productive!  Today has been a wonderfully productive day, which normally doesn't happen on a Saturday.  I woke up early.  Ugh.  That's the thing I hate most about having a job... my body is so used to getting up at 6:00 every morning that it just can't BEAR to sleep past 7:30.  So, I got on up, finished my menu for the next two weeks, then headed out to go take care of some study abroad stuff.  I had to get new passport pictures and send off my name change form since I haven't changed it on my passport yet.  Then I had to take care of some paying for the trip fun stuff (sarcasm!) and then went to the grocery store.  My goal for the store today was to get out of there with under $100 spent.  I only spent $90.52, and that will last us through the end of February!  After the grocery store, I came home and put it all away, started some laundry, vacuumed, did the dishes, and cleaned off all my countertops.  Sidenote on countertops:  the bad thing about dark countertops (ours are black granite), is that you never realize how nasty they are until you start to clean those suckers!  The rag I was using grossed me out!  I guess the good thing about them is that if I don't see how dirty they are, I guess nobody else does either!  ;)  So, my lesson today is to clean those bad boys more often with some Clorox spray... yuck!

It's menu time again!  I've been a slacker on the blog again... my last post was a menu too, and they only come twice a month!  I'll have to spice life up a little bit so I will have something to talk about!  I don't like the way this little thing posts my nice Excel spreadsheet menu (yes, I am a nerd), so I am just going to type it myself this time.  :)

This Week-- February 14-20
Monday-- Valentine's Day.  I'm not going to post anything about it yet because my sweet husband will read this and it's going to be a surprise!

Wednesday--  Jambalaya  (Taylor got this from a Cajun catering company here in Marietta and it's been in the freezer for awhile, so we're finally going to eat it)

Thursday--  Taylor has late guitar lessons, so it's going to be eat what you can find night :)

Friday-- BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Homemade Oven Fries (these sandwiches are so good... I make the meat in the crock pot and it is super easy and delish.  Taylor LOVES them, it's always his request)

Saturday Lunch-- Soft Tacos

Saturday Dinner--  Spicy Honey Mustard Pork with Yellow Rice and Black Eyed Peas

Sunday Lunch--  Open Faced Turkey and Spinach on Garlic Texas Toast

Sunday Dinner--  Breakfast night!  Bacon, Eggs, and Biscuits (maybe some fruit if I make it back to the store)

Tuesday-- Tuscan Chicken with Brussels Sprouts and Squash

Wednesday--  Macaroni Grill Chicken with Asparagus

Thursday--  Shepherd's Pie

Friday--  Grilled Shrimp with Cheese Grits

Saturday Lunch--  Turkey Cran Avocado Sandwiches

Saturday Dinner--  Grilled Chicken with Noodles and English Peas

Sunday Lunch--  Sandwich or whatever we have leftover

Sunday Dinner--  Cajun Pasta Fresca

Monday--  Veggie Night!  We have a TON of sides in our pantry and freezer, so I'm going to just cook 3 or 4 of them to try to get rid of them :)  and I saved a little money by not having to buy a meat for this night.

I put hyperlinks on some of my menu items, just in case anything might strike your fancy!  I use allrecipes.com ALL the time!  There are probably a zillion recipes on there so you can find anything you want.  I love it.

Well, I'm going to get back to my productivity now!  More laundry to finish and bathrooms to clean!  What a FUN Saturday night!  Oh, the reason for my alone day is because Taylor is at the MonsterJam.  Yes, he is a redneck for the day.  He even wore his LSU shirt... I laughed in my head :)

I am apparently allergic to amoxicillin... who knew??  Not me!)  So that made the sickness last a little longer than expected.  I am feeling so much better now, though!  Anyway, here is the menu!

Valentine's Day-- TBD!

Since I had several meals still in the freezer from the last menu, I stuck all of those on the new one and made my grocery list a little shorter this week!  :)  We're on track so far on this menu, but it's only been 3 days!  I'm determined to stick to it this time.  Let's hope the sickies stay away!

We really haven't been up to too much lately.  This past week has been a rough one at work.  I only work until 1:00 right now, but it seems like every day 1:00 just never could come fast enough.  Yikes.  Hopefully this week will be 100 times better!  We tried to go to a movie last night, but we ended up being too late after dinner to make the 7:30 movie, and we both knew that the 10:00 movie was not gonna happen!  Grandma here would have been sleeping in my theater chair.  This afternoon we had a "Foam Party" for work... we're building a new house in Midtown and the spray foam insulation just went in, so we basically had a show and tell party... so I drug Taylor along with me to that!  We planned on  going to the early movie tonight... but doesn't look like that's happening!  We're just going to grill and have a relaxing evening at home, since Taylor has to be up so early for church tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to this week.  The good thing about having a bad week is that you can have a positive outlook for the next one!  Hopefully it will be a great one!  :)
