Change Always Comes Bearing Gifts

I found the title quote online and thought it was pretty appropriate for what is going on in the Johnson world lately.  That's right, folks, changes!  Good changes, indeed.

This Sunday will be our last day at Cobb Community Church.  A bittersweet day.  We will be sad to leave, but thankful for a new opportunity as the Youth and Worship Leader (and wife) at Crossview Baptist Church.  Thankful for a full-time job.  Thankful for a full-time salary.  Thankful for insurance.  Thankful for new relationships that will be built.  Thankful that we don't have to pack up and move.

But, very sad to leave CCC.  We have loved and been loved on so much since November of 2009.  Our first year of marriage was spent with these folks.  The advice and encouragement we've received from them is invaluable.  We will be forever grateful for the time we got to spend here and look forward to having these forever friendships.

We truly do feel like this is where God wants us.  I've always been a big believer that God won't put something in front of you and make it happen if that isn't what He wanted in the first place.  And this all definitely was God's deal all along.  Graduating college is all fine and dandy, until you have to start paying back those student loans.  Once those are due, the money coming in just wasn't going to cover it, so Taylor and I both searched out new opportunities for jobs.  I like my job, but am only part-time right now in light of the glorious economy, so I even looked for other part-time jobs to help supplement a little bit.  But, God decided that it was Taylor who needed to take the new job plunge and not me.  So, that's about how it all went down.

So, about the "Change always comes bearing gifts."  I already mentioned the "gifts" we'll be getting, and I'm sure I didn't even begin to come close to the abundance.  However, I'm sure Cobb Community Church will be on the receiving end of some amazing gifts as well.  They're going to be going through a big change as well, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for them.  I'm sure it's going to be great!

I will have an update through the transition, but we're both very excited about it and can't wait to share it with all of you!

Little Baby Bro

Yesterday, this little boy went to college.

Where does the time go, seriously?  Jamie is six years younger than me, and I feel like I just left for college not too long ago, but now Jamie is starting!  Crazy!  So, to the sweetest little bro in the world:

Dear Jamie,

I am so proud of you.  You've gone from being my annoying little brother and me wanting to kill you almost every day to being a smart, handsome, loving and caring young man.  I know you'd do anything at all for anybody.  You're hilarious, and you seriously have the biggest butt on a boy I've ever seen (haha jk).  Have fun at Auburn, be careful, and don't do anything stupid.  Always be that sweet boy that you are.  Treat girls with respect.  Remember, your sister is always looking after you.  Call me anytime you need me.  Love you little bro!

PS, I bet you 5 dollars mom read this and cried!  :)
